Campaign Poster

Summary: Groups work together to come up with a slogan and a poster to remind others not to bully

Target grades: 4th and above

Minimum time needed: 40 minutes

Materials: poster boards; art supplies

Connection to bullying: Slogans and posters can remind others not to bully

Activity instructions:

Divide participants into groups and assign each a poster board. Ask participants to think about what would get attention while walking through the hallway, and to create something that catches a passerby’s eye and also makes them think twice about bullying or hurting others. First, the group decides on a slogan that supports non-bullying behavior. Give some examples, like: “It Hurst To Bully” “Spread the Love” etc. Next, groups decorate their posters, with their slogan written on it, to display in the room or hallway.

Discussion questions:

  • Why did you choose to create your poster the way you did?
  • Did you base if off ideas or experiences that you have had in the past?
  • What is the overall message of the poster? What do you want people to think when they see it?
